Guidance and best practice
We are following all government guidelines and working on the best practice measures within The Horse Inn Hurst.
We are completing all necessary risk assessments and certification to validate our policies; all procedures and assessments will be constantly reviewed and updated where necessary in line with the government guidelines. We have also completed the requirements set out by the ‘B.I.I.’ to be Industry safe.
We very much believe, keeping safe needs to be a joint effort between our team and our guests, so we urge you to please use maximum common sense to play your part in keeping everyone safe. In return we will be doing the same for you. Importantly, we will not be allowing any of our team members displaying symptoms inside our premises and we would ask you to exercise the same cautionary approach.
We love our old pub and its quirkiness, but this can make it difficult for hard and fast rules. We ask our guests to be responsible for their own physical distancing when moving around the building during your time with us, our team will also do the same for you.

Things may look a little different in this strange time, but we hope it will feel the same; ultimately, it is still our team caring for you and delivering the same attention to detail and personalised service that you are used to at The Horse Inn Hurst.
We want you to be reassured that the measures we have put in place are to keep you and our team safe so that you can confidently enjoy your time with us.
Our 6 steps to keep everyone safe
- Carrying out Risk Assessments and Staff Training.
- Adhering to Government guidelines for social distancing.
- Stringent hygiene routines, including the use of sanitizer to clean all public areas regularly throughout the day and the use of a fogging solution to sanitise all our rooms between guests.
- Hand sanitizer stations placed throughout our entire building for guests and staff to use.
- Minimising contact between staff and guests at every possible opportunity.
- Guests and staff required to wear face masks in public spaces unless seated.
NHS Test & Trace
The NHS Test & Trace poster will be displayed at the front of the pub. If you have the NHS COVID-19 App you can quickly and easily ‘check in’ to The Horse Inn Hurst by scanning the QR code.
If you do not have the App, we will be asking guests to leave their details so that we can submit these to NHS Test & Trace.
The guidance is if there is more than one person in a booking, then you can record the name of the ‘lead member’ of the group (of up to 6 people) and the number of people in that group. We are asking for each household within the group of 6 to please register.
The Horse Inn Hurst is in Tier 1 (medium) areas, and we are observing the regulations set out for Tier 1.
If you are travelling to us from Tier 2 (High) area, the regulations in your area move with you as you travel – so we ask that you observe the regulations set out for Tier 2 areas during your visit.
